It has been said that a man has the feeling(memory) of being dust and worth nothing, so he is afraid that he might really be nothing.
A woman thinks she is everything, perhaps because she did not come from “nothing.”
Even today, a man must build himself, to be able to get the possibility of a woman to protect, provide for, to lead, . . . Hence a man still starts as nothing and must work to develop into something. The word woman means “Of Man”. As in Genesis 2:”23 And the man said: ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’”
A woman is born and then grows physically into a young woman(she starts with all of the eggs she will ever have), that men flock to. For the woman, no more is required than going through puberty. She is valuable and valued but not from any extra work or effort on her part.
Could this be by design in Creation? Let’s take a look at Adam and Eve. Adam was created from the dust of the earth, by the Almighty who placed HIS Nefesh(Spirit) in the man, so that he became a Living Soul. Man(Adam) was complete as a Single. Yet the man is alone. For a future filled with life, a help mate(partner) is needed. After searching all of creation, none could fill the role of partner. So the CREATOR caused the man to sleep, and took from his body(side) a rib, with which HE created the man’s Help Mate. At that time, the man’s job/function was to name each creature the CREATOR created. The Text says that the LORD would wait to see what Adam would call it. When Adam saw this new creation, his words are recorded as: And the man said: ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’
Genesis 2:24 “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.”
– From the very first we are told that man and woman should become One Flesh. To hurt one is to hurt the other! They are to work together to create life, family, their happiness, future, . . . With their strengths and weaknesses.
Let’s look a little closer to what happened. Can a rib dwell alone? It may exist but, it can never be the future by itself. The man also cannot be the future by himself. The man has more resources, strength, endurance, a mind, vision for the future, ability to create shelter, get food, defend himself, . . . . The rib supports the man, enabling more strength, filling the hole in the side, providing comfort and completeness. The rib is also supported, fed, shielded, strengthened, and is important to the future of all.
In the world today, the RIB has been told: “You should be free, just leave the man, . . . . “ When the rib leaves, a gaping hole is left open. Hence, a grievous wound in the man remains and that future is destroyed.
The rib rarely does better than where it left from. Also, it is less likely to find a new location where it will be trusted. It will find it harder to make the connection to the new body, so usually falls out again. The same is true if the rib had been used, nibbled upon(not a virgin), prior to the first completion(marriage). This causes that rib to have problems connecting to fulfill the place it is trying to belong.
This is from Genesis 2. Note that men are usually the subject in the Hebrew Bible text. This is not from any recent disrespect for the female. It is because, as noted above Man and Woman are to be ONE not two. So the protector, the provider, the defender, the leader, the husband, is referred to for orders, instructions, laws, and so on. Note a woman found on her own, becomes the prey of most everything else in the world.
Can we see how this one complete person process works? In Genesis 3, the woman talks to a serpent. She demonstrates that she has been told by the man not to eat or touch of this tree in the middle of the garden. It is demonstrated that she believes that she will get better – wiser, even godlike, by doing what she knows is wrong. She does it. She then takes it and gives it to her husband (the man), which also eats it. Notice that no discussion took place when she gave to him to eat. (If she is not wiser, could it be misery loves’ company?). She accepts no responsibility for her actions, instead blames the serpent when she decided what she would do, and did it herself. The man, also does not accept his responsibility for what he did. Instead, blames the CREATOR for giving her to him. In recent decades, this is pretty much how men and women act. So not only have we not improved over time, we are worse, because we can be.
When Man and Woman are together correctly, they are for each other and their combined future. I could go through the rest of the Hebrew Writings of Moses and the other documentation of the Children of Jacob and prophecies pointing out how this has been and is playing out.
A short list of actions by females which are called out in the writings.
Dinah, daughter of Jacob goes into town to see what the girls there are doing! (Left her family to get excitement. Which later cause mass problems and even death).
Eve wife of Adam- “Genesis 3”
Dinah, Daughter of Jacob and Leah. “went out to see the daughters of the land” Genesis 34:1 — {Wanted excitement so went to the city– Paraphrase in today’s ideas. While there she had a one night stand with the kings son.}
Potiphar’s wife; grabs his clothes trying to seduce Joseph, he runs away/rejecting her/ she is holding some of his cloth, she calls to other servants claiming the Joseph tried to lay with her, and convinces her husband, Potiphar that Joseph attempted to rape her . . . Genesis 39.
Samson-Wife in Timnah that betrayed him to the town’s men, then she is taken away and given to another by her father. Next we have a harlot names Delilah, bad women – bad results. “Judges Chapters 13 – 16”
King David has many wives – some were trouble, and some had bad outcomes. “Books of Samuel and Chronicles”
King Solomon had many more wives than his father David but, some of those wives got the wisest of all men to sin in such a way that the Nation of Israel is ripped apart upon his death, by the LIVING GOD OF ISRAEL, as foretold. “Books of Kings and Chronicles”
Queen Jezebel, harms her husband and Israel via her actions “Books of 1Kings Chapters 16– 21 and 2Kings Chapter 9”3
These are a sampling. If you knew these stories, you would know that what started in the Beginning, was still happening at that time, and still happens today.
