How do you like that title?
Do you think I am wrong? Because it is too hard to comprehend? Can’t get your mind around the thought?
Maybe it would help if I told you how, I got there. Whatever your answer was, I did not get it, so I am going to say that you want to understand this. So here goes.
On this last Shabbat, at Shul, I was attempting to explain why I know the TORAH/Tanakh as well as I do.
I explained, that for many years I would read the Torah from a different point of view, to see what perspective would give me. Some of these views have been:
1) The Word Of God –straight up.;
2) A Good Story;
3) Looking for the errors; conflicting accounts in the text to prove it man made;
4) I had heard that GOD is our father, so From A Father’s point of view; . . . .
Each of these, has shown me things that I missed, prior to reading IT from that perspective. It was thinking about explaining number Four above, that was the cause the title to come out. “Our Father, The Almighty GOD”.
This evening I went for a walk, the darkness in the sky was mostly complete, save for the stars(very different for the SF Bay Peninsula), which are shining very bright tonight; –clear air and 65 degrees F. very nice and pleasant. I thanked the ALMIGHTY for letting me see it. Then a series of thoughts crossed my mind. Our Father, this Universe and this world are not about me or us, it is about HIM. It is HIS creation, for HIS purpose, according to HIS plans, not mine or ours, but HIS.
I then realized that while there are people and things it would be nice to have or enjoy, I do not NEED to have them. I am alive, but not by my will, but by HIS. I continue on this world, according to HIS plan, not mine. I see and learn what HE teaches me, not for the vanity of my heart, but for the Glory of Our Father.
How does this relate to HIM. HE could make the Heavens and the Earth in any form HE wanted, or not at all. He made everything and then made man, and placed a piece of HIS SPIRIT inside the dirt(Flesh). Then HE gave man a simple task, “Do what I tell you and Live”. Since the very beginning we have mostly gotten this wrong. Always assuming that we could do whatever we want and HE will, . . . . . . Who cares? — I care. I do care about what HE wants. I care about whether or not HE thinks I am doing it right or wrong. Self preservation?, maybe. Maybe, I have learned what it is like to be alone, even in a great crowd, Alone. I don’t like it. Now that I think about it, Those LAWS he gave us, when on the breaking end(receiving), and one of them is done to me, I don’t like it. When I look at my actions in my life and see what I have done to others, I don’t like it. When I see people doing things that hurt themselves or others, because they just don’t care, I feel hurt inside. I have had tiny experience, compared to what 7.5 Billion people doing wrong is possibly like for HIM.
Okay, so what is going on? Why is HE doing this Heavens and the Earth thing then? Simple: HE is getting HIS Children Ready for the Next Life with HIM.
What????
Consider this, as a parent, I know that as a dad, excuse me Papa, we are drawn to that infant, even though it is loud, ugly, hairless, toothless, shitty, peeing, screaming, most adorable, helpless, lovely, –I must protect this thing and no one is allowed to harm my daughter!!!!! And yet, I know that although I am not the mother trying to breast feed her newborn infant, to protect, nourish and care for this child. It will not take many bites on those sensitive breast and the baby will be getting its nourishment from another source. So it starts – the training cycle. You do this, and you do get that. OR, You do this and you can get that. We still have years to go with teaching the child how to survive in the world we live.
So it is with Our FATHER, The Almighty GOD. This life is about us learning, being tested, learning the next level, then testing and so on. This is getting us ready for what is to come. We are the only thing created, that HE placed HIS SPIRIT in, and said Do what I tell you to do, and everything will be great, go against me, do your own thing, fight doing what I say is right and when the time comes you will not.
We are not given a perfect description of what comes after this world. You are to choose HIM without being bribed. You are to choose, because HE SAID SO; because HE is GOD; because HE is the DESIGNER, Architect, Engineer and IT is perfectly designed for the purpose intended, HIS Purpose.
The only requirement for each of us is to Keep HIS Covenants, do what HE Says the way HE said, because anything else is Not GOD’s.
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will hearken unto My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine; 6 and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.’
Deuteronomy 30:2 and shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and hearken to His voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul;
It is not about us, It is about HIM, we just get to benefit and go to the next stage with HIM if we do what HE SAYS to do. Otherwise; Isaiah 27:11 . . . .for it is a people of no understanding; therefore He that made them will not have compassion upon them, and He that formed them will not be gracious unto them.(A People Of No Understanding)
I wrote and article called “+ 0 -?” If you are not a positive(One, righteous), then you are a place holder or tool, for even a Zero has its place and a tool has its use, but that does not mean you can be added to the sum total.
I can show you the way, if you want to know.
IT is to our benefit to HEARKEN until the LIVING GOD OF ISRAEL, and to our pain and shame to do otherwise.
My prayer is that The LORD grant you eyes that see, ears that hear and an understanding heart, then you return unto HIM soon!(Isaiah 6: 9 And He said: ‘Go, and tell this people: hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they, seeing with their eyes, and hearing with their ears, and understanding with their heart, return, and be healed.’)
