So many willfully choose to not understand the prophets. Shame! We at so close to the Last Day, that the text below seem to be about the world now. Not the first line, although that is a part of it. I mean Isaiah 59.
“a redeemer shall come to Zion, and to those who repent of transgression in Jacob” Isaiah 59:20
Here is another example of how a piece of a verse is taken; then given a ‘desired’ meaning.
Some hints to understanding what the LORD is saying. Seldom is the full meaning found in a single line.
So start with: always find the ‘Who’ that is being spoken to or about, then get the context of the words (the full text from statement, command and teaching) and strive to understand the complete text.
The people being spoken to are identified back in Isaiah 56.
In Isaiah 59: “15 And truth is lacking, and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey. And the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice;
16 And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm brought salvation unto Him; and His righteousness, it sustained Him;
17 And He put on righteousness as a coat of mail, and a helmet of salvation upon His head, and He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; to the islands He will repay recompense.
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; for distress will come in like a flood, which the breath of the LORD driveth.
20 And a redeemer will come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
21 And as for Me, this is My covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and My words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.”
So what is going on here? What are we to learn here?
Starting in verse 15 THE LORD is speaking of HIMSELF. HE is the REDEEMER in 20, and the THEM in 20 goes back to “Isaiah 56:8 Saith the Lord GOD who gathereth the dispersed of Israel: Yet I will gather others to him, beside those of him that are gathered.” These are the LORD’S CHILDREN. So Who are the LORD’S? Isaiah 56: 1 .. 7.
Isaiah 56:
“1 Thus saith the LORD: Keep ye justice, and do righteousness; for My salvation is near to come, and My favour to be revealed.
2 Happy is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that holdeth fast by it: that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
3 Neither let the alien, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying: ‘The LORD will surely separate me from His people’; neither let the eunuch say: ‘Behold, I am a dry tree.’
4 For thus saith the LORD concerning the eunuchs that keep My sabbaths, and choose the things that please Me, and hold fast by My covenant:
5 Even unto them will I give in My house and within My walls a monument and a memorial better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting memorial, that shall not be cut off.
6 Also the aliens, that join themselves to the LORD, to minister unto Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast by My covenant:
7 Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon Mine altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”
By the way, that was long version of this: “Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will hearken unto My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine; 6 and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.'”
You don’t think you are included in these words? If you are against the GOD Of Abraham, GOD Of Isaac and GOD Of Jacob, then “Exodus 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses: ‘Whosoever hath sinned against Me, him will I blot out of My book.” Otherwise try “Not Only With You“.
Is anyone listening? This is important to you and your soul. You still have breath and life, you may still have time to return and repair your deeds. You just need to Do It.
