Can there be any hope in seeking forgiveness for wrongs I may have done, if I am unwilling to regret in my life? making improvement in the world, your life or your soul.

I observe that many of us refuse to have regret over what we have done. We refuse to review our actions and decisions because we must then regret what “I, myself have done”. This refusal to regret aids in the desire to find someone, anyone else to blame for what happens as long as it is not they that are responsible(breaking the law – Leviticus 19:11 Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another.). Precisely this done so that they are not wrong, and must declare the actions or thought of others wrong. In the opposite direction, they are always willing to accept credit for good. The rules that they live by must be changing and flexible, so that they can continue to be on the positive side and not be wrong.

This cannot function in the world except for a short time, the result is always destruction. The destruction starts with a group of leaders of people, creating a society that crumbles(someone else is to blame), which causes shortages for the people over time: in work, self-regard, homes, family values collapse, families collapse, moral decay, personal health declines, food and water shortages and death of the masses. A disaster for the people of the earth. But, it changes nothing when personal accountability does not include truthfulness, honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, . . . . You cannot change when you are not responsible.

Jeremiah 6:18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is against them. 19  Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not attended unto My words, and as for My teaching, they have rejected it.

More evidence of the need for regret:

Deuteronomy 30:1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt bethink thyself among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, 2 and shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and hearken to His voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul; . . . .

Leviticus 26:38 And ye shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. 40 And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their treachery which they committed against Me, and also that they have walked contrary unto Me. 41 I also will walk contrary unto them, and bring them into the land of their enemies; if then perchance their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then be paid the punishment of their iniquity; 42 then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
Jeremiah 3:13 only acknowledge thine iniquity, . . . .

Jeremiah 14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, even the iniquity of our fathers; for we have sinned against Thee.

Hosea 5:15 I will go and return to My place, till they acknowledge their guilt, and seek My face; in their trouble they will seek Me earnestly

Isaiah 63:8 For He said: ‘Surely, they are My people, children that will not deal falsely’; so He was their Saviour.

Consider truthfully where you stand according to the Writings of Moses(Leviticus 26:46 These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which the LORD made between Him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.)

An Add-on

In continuing my seeking of knowledge I found Jeremiah 8, which powerfully presents GOD’s anguish caused by HIS Chosen People, including those people which Know of Moses’ Writings(Torah- Five Books of Moses) This portion is for those at the time of Jeremiah and For US at the END OF DAYS. Ask yourself, ‘When was the Last Time I Cried Out “What have I Done?” out of remorse and regret.

Jeremiah 8: 4 ‘. . . .Thus saith the LORD: do men fall, and not rise up again? Doth one turn away, and not return? 5 Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. 6 I attended and listened, but they spoke not aright; no man repenteth him of his wickedness, saying: ‘What have I done?'(expressing regret) Every one turneth away in his course, as a horse that rusheth headlong in the battle. 7 Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but My people know not the ordinance of the LORD. 8 How do ye say: ‘We are wise, and the Law of the LORD is with us’? Lo, certainly in vain hath wrought the vain pen of the scribes. 9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken; lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them? 10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall possess them; for from the least even unto the greatest every one is greedy for gain, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.’
