Hebrews after the Red Sea

The Hebrews(Meaning from the other side or the Other)

A Problem is found here! How can it be that even the Hebrews in Egypt, that saw the events there and then were expelled, chased by Pharaoh and his army, trapped by the sea and then walked on dry ground with walls of water on both sides, those that left had no knowledge of GOD or what just happened?

They did not internalize the events of GOD’s Mercy and Power! In other words they just did not perceive or understand those events taking place around them. Could it be likened to: “not seeing the forest because of a couple of trees”? Are we doing the same type of ‘being present’ today that they did 3,500 years ago? Are we caught up in our own thoughts and welfare so that we really do understand anything? Do we even care to know? Do you?

Cautions from the prophets: Isaiah 55:3 ’Incline your ear, and come unto Me; hear, and your soul shall live;. . . . ‘ and 55:7 ’Let the wicked forsake his way, and the man of iniquity his thoughts; and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have compassion upon him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.’

We should take care not to be part of this: Jeremiah 8:’1 At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves; 2 and they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped; they shall not be gathered, nor be buried, they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth. 3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, that remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.’
[Punishment for the tribe of Judah for not seeking their HOLY ONE, but seeking anything else to worship. The end of this speaks of NOW, for we are in that day and many are not taking heed. Are you paying attention?]

These are not the only statements of these issues, but many have foretold these judgements — You only need to Turn Back to THE HOLY ONE and do as The LORD has explained to us by the hand of Moses.

Moses declares in the statement:
Deuteronomy 29:1 And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them: Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; 2 the great trials which thine eyes saw, the signs and those great wonders; 3 but the LORD hath not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.(King Solomon asked for ‘an understanding heart’ we call this wisdom; and in Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good; :: meaning to know and understand something).

Another example of just doing and not understanding anything that is before them, is ‘Korah’ in Numbers 16, Korah and his family serve in the tabernacle of the LORD, taking care of the utensils of the Tabernacle, seemingly a better job than say, the slaughtering the sacrifices. It seems that such a person and his family would have observed the tabernacle’s workings before GOD, so they should have some understanding if not wisdom. And yet, he and his family, with elders of the tribes Israel are ready to forcibly remove Moses and Aaron with a military type coup, so they can rule over the Children of Israel.

How could they not have known that they could not attack Moses without GOD defending Moses? Where were they at Mt Sinai when GOD spoke to Moses before the Children of Israel? Did they not know that GOD IS? The Hebrews had been in the desert for a few years by now and with “on the job training” should have instructed them about the situation. So here they are challenging Moses, Aaron and GOD for the power to rule? Good-bye Korah and followers. They did perform a great service for us by their deaths, in that we learn for the first time that ‘they go down alive into the pit’ indicating that for those going down -it is usual to go there DEAD, so for that type of person -evil, this is where you go.

Shalom, shalom,

Yaakov
