The most powerful reason why, if you are blessed enough to have children, is/are right in front of you. Your children and your future, these are a perfect reason start learning and teaching. What you reveal to your children by your actions, will demonstrate what they will do to you toward the end of your life. Yes, they will act as you do in their dealings with others but, more to the power they will do it to you. You can change, you can do what is Right. First, you will need to know what RIGHT looks like, fortunately the LIVING GOD OF ISRAEL has already demonstrated Right and has given us a manual(Torah –the Five Books Of Moses) so that we do not stumble in darkness to figure out what you are to do to be Right.
Not everyone is motivated to change their ways after their teenage years. Actually very few are motivated in the their entire life to change, even fewer will struggle for the change required. If you are blessed enough to be even thinking about this then you are powerful enough to do it, there is a way.
I have observed that those who were shown in the early years(before age 7), to perform Good and Not Evil; to be responsible; to be kind and courteous; to be respectful and GOD fearing, may yet choose to act Righteously later in life. Primarally because someone demonstrated those actions. The most powerful demonstrators are the parents. Hence Moses wrote “Deuteronomy 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart; 7 and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children,. . . .” Deuteronomy 6:4..9 is about knowing who is GOD, How many gods are there, and what are we to do about that.
Everything is about how we behave, the choices we make and how we decide right from wrong. Your actions demonstrates to family, friends and others the same thing. To your family, most importantly, for if you demonstrate by choices and actions how to act, others(like your children) learn to how behave. They will act the way you act and do what you have shown them to do. Show them LIFE and not death(of the soul). Start right now, and do that which is right. If you don’t know or understand then start by reading Exodus Chapter 20 thru 24, do it twice and see if you understand what you read.
