Our Actions And The Outcome

While writing a document entitled “On the Witness of Two or More –Truth Is Known”, in which I am pulling the Prophesy together with the Results witnessed on two or more. Which have already happened in the Tanakh or Old Testament for my Non-Jewish readers.

This requires me to gather much information from the Tanakh and much reading to understand that text selected actually demonstrates the fulfillment of the WORD of the LIVING GOD OF ISRAEL. There is a very common theme found in the Tanakh. That being that we are shown what is coming as a result our deeds. These are actual warnings by the LIVING GOD, that we are in danger and should change our actions to avoid the results.

An example of this is Nineveh in the Book of Jonah. Where Jonah is being sent to declare destruction of the people because of their evil, but Nineveh repents and changes their ways. This is the last part of the story, in that Jonah wants to see the destruction which does not come because of the change of heart by Nineveh.

Yes the Word of the ALMIGHTY does happen, but at a much later time.(HIS WORD IS ALWAYS TRUE! The question should be: Do I have to be a part of this WORD? Okay, the answer is NO if you take to heart the warning and change.)

So we have an example of Hearing and Changing due to the warning. How does this work for the Children of Israel? Do we take to heart and change?

I will take two stories not in the Torah, but in the Tanakh. Some might think that I am only about the Written Torah. Well, I am for the LAW and Teachings, but for the results of our actions, GOD’S anger at our deeds and HIS attempts to change our hearts, Tanakh is great. Okay, the two stories, which I remembered while working on the other writing introduced above.

1 Kings 22, is the story of the death of Ahab, King of Israel. This death was foretold by Elijah the prophet: 1 Kings 21:17 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying: 18 ‘Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwelleth in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to take possession of it. 19 And thou shalt speak unto him, saying: Thus saith the LORD: Hast thou killed, and also taken possessions? and thou shalt speak unto him, saying: Thus saith the LORD: In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.’

And in 1 Kings 22:38 And they washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; the harlots also washed themselves there; according unto the word of the LORD which He spoke.

Here is what I find interesting in 1 Kings 22:7 But Jehoshaphat(King of Judah) said: ‘Is there not here besides a prophet of the LORD, that we might inquire of him?’ 8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat: ‘There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.’ And Jehoshaphat said: ‘Let not the king say so.’

So that is one story, let me show you the other story, then I will explain why.

Jeremiah 36:
1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying:
2 ‘Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

Jeremiah has a scribe named Baruch the son of Neriah, to which is dictated all the words from the mouth of Jeremiah given by the LORD OF HOST. This book is to be read:

5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying: ‘I am detained, I cannot go into the house of the LORD;

6 therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD’S house upon a fast-day; and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

7 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way; for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.’

Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah ends up destroying this book when he hears it. And:
24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
25 Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had entreated the king not to burn the roll; but he would not hear them.
26 And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but the LORD hid them.

The Lord has Jeremiah again write the book with an additional entry for the king of Judah:
29 And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah thou shalt say: Thus saith the LORD: Thou hast burned this roll, saying: Why hast thou written therein, saying: The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
30 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
. . . . It get worse for the king.

Here is the reason for this writing. The LORD GOD OF ISRAEL, gives us warnings so that we may hear, consider and change, the same way Nineveh did when given the chance.

In both these stories, the warning is not received well, rather it was dealt with in hatred and evil deeds. They refuse to take heed or to seize the chance to avoid the judgment. Rather, they hate the message and the messenger and the GOD which sends the message.

It seems that they believed that it was not going to effect them, kind of like a ostrich hiding its head to escape the Lion.

Presented has been, on the witness of two, refusing to change and to this point only one example of change. I will correct that now, and give you the most powerful example of someone who repents immediately upon realizing evil has been done by them.

This is the Story of David and Bath-sheba, 2 Samuel 11, where because of a little considered Commandment Ten stated as Thou Shalt Not Covet. King David broke, thoughtlessly almost all ten at once. Yet, when GOD send Nathan the prophet to get a judgment from the king in regards to a legal matter, which is the general idea of what the King has done:

2 Samuel 12:
5 And David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan: ‘As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this deserveth to die;
6 and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.’
7 And Nathan said to David: ‘Thou art the man. {S} Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
8 and I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that were too little, then would I add unto thee so much more.
9 Wherefore hast thou despised the word of the LORD, to do that which is evil in My sight? Uriah the Hittite thou hast smitten with the sword, and his wife thou hast taken to be thy wife, and him thou hast slain with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10 Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from thy house; because thou hast despised Me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
11 Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
12 For thou didst it secretly; but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.’
13 And David said unto Nathan: ‘I have sinned against the LORD.’ {S} And Nathan said unto David: ‘The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast greatly blasphemed the enemies of the LORD, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.’

I include all of this text so that you can see, One that David past judgment upon the foe in his capacity as KING, so he knows it is wrong. Second, David is told he is the foe, and GOD’S judgment against David. Third David acknowledges his guilt before the LORD, which the LORD has already put away.

So from this we should see that Acknowledging and seeking forgiveness for our sins, gets forgiveness, but does not remove all consequences. The LORD loves David for his desire to do what is right before the LORD. How do we know that this true afterwards?
Read this story.

King David who walked before THE LORD whole heartedly,
except on l Kings 15:
1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat began Abijam to reign over Judah. . . . [Abijam – Is bad]
3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not whole with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
4 Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem;
5 because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that He commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

Does the LORD really love King David even after his mistakes?
Here are three statements by the ALMIGHTY concerning the Messiah(the Anointed that sits on the Throne of David in the Next World.)

Ezekiel 34:
23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even My servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
24 And I the LORD will be their God, and My servant David prince among them; I the LORD have spoken.

My Servant David is the Messiah(The Anointed One), Valley of Dry Bones
Ezekiel 37:
24 And My servant David shall be king over them, and they all shall have one shepherd; they shall also walk in Mine ordinances, and observe My statutes, and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob My servant, wherein your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children’s children, for ever; and David My servant shall be their prince for ever.

Jeremiah 30:
8 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bands; and strangers shall no more make him their bondman;
9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

Consider what you have done in your life that GOD should hold against you. Acknowledge your deeds to HIM and seek HIS forgiveness, it would help if you could fix what you have done, but while there is still time get right with the LIVING GOD OF ISRAEL and stop doing wrong. Do that which is Righteous and be thankful to the LORD for help you understand that you can change.
